Welcome to the home of the Horsham Hawks, season 2015/16
This Saturday, 7 May, THERE IS NO COMMUNITY TRAINING...
We hope to be back soon, so please keep an eye on here for details.
Hawks Josh Lea Clayton and Josh Tavolieri have both made it through to the South East region squad. Well deserved guys. Elsewhere Zach Holden and Miguel Venturini made it through to the Sussex boys squad whilst Rachel Maclean matched them with a place in the Sussex girls squad.
U12s march on to finals
The Hawks Under 12 team made it through to the Sussex Junior Play-off finals with a hard fought victory away at D&D, 86 - 92. Full Report to follow shortly. Incredibly proud of the team, now to the final.
Super Sunday for a duo of trios
Sunday 17 April will be remembered as a very special day as the Hawks 'represented' at two major competitions. First to strike were Josh, Miguel and Zach. Their National League team, the U12 Sussex Bears, were crowned Central Hoops Basketball League Champions. It was a very early start in London for the team, coaches and the parents. The team, the coaches and their families did this journey to London on several such Sundays throughout the season. After many games the top 4 teams battled for the top spot. It was very tense and tough but such a joy to watch these young kids play a high quality basketball on the court. The atmosphere was amazing all the way through.
Having won their semi-final v Baltic Stars, they had a 20 minute break to rest and then played their final v Newham Youngbloods. They won 55:53 and Miguel was rewarded with one of the MVP awards. Boys, we are very proud of you. You have done an AMAZING job.
Else where Millie, Ellie and Indi played in their National League semi final. The trip oop north to Manchester (Bury to be precise) was well worth the trip as the three helped secure the U16 Sevenoaks Suns a place in the final. A trip to the Armaechi Basketball Centre in May against Bristol Storm lays ahead. Their 38 -41 win against a tough Lancashire Spinners team was hard fought as the lead changed hands throughout the tie. With two minutes left the score was tied, but it was the Suns who finished the stronger. Well done girls and assistant coach Dave Clayton for an amazing game of ball.
Family quiz night - ON HOLD
will soon be holding a family quiz night, think Crystal Maze without the expensive sets. Maximum of 8 members per
team, it should be ideal for all ages-ish with a mixture of quiz
questions and hands on challenges.
Under 18s £3, over 18s £5. Please get your team names and team captains to firstname.lastname@example.org and we will let you know when we will be having our night of fun.
and drinks will be supplied by combatants. Please pay on the door. If
people are looking for a team we can create a super group. All profits
are to be shared equally between the Hawks and a Guiding service trip to
South Africa, helping children affected by AIDs.
Will the kids beat the adults? Will the kids be prepared to have an adult in their team. One way to find out...
Calling all female basketballers (over 16 yrs of age, so not all at all)

Hawks strike out
Three lanes, 18 names, 1 strike and a spare. Bowling at it's finest. Who would have known that the management would be so anti dunking...
Just couldn't resist the basketball. For more photos see the Hawks pictures in the sub nav <<.
