Welcome to the home of the Horsham Hawks, U12 and U13 Sussex Cup champions
Mini Ballers – balling on
Our Mini Baller sessions at Forest School have come to an end for this season, but there's more...
For those of you unaware our mini ballers are aged between 6 and 11 inclusive. Experienced or not, we want to meet you.
The Hawks will be running additional hour long sessions at The Holbrook Club on Saturdays 27 May and 10 Jun - 4-5pm. Each session is £5 for the hour.
Please note, as we are training at an alternative venue we will not have access to lowered hoops. Any players unable to reach the full 10 foot hoops will concentrate on ball handling skills etc.
if you have any questions please contact Will who will be happy to help.
Hawks Mini's following their victory against Worthing D&D's Minis in a very friendly friendly encounter.
Now that our playing season has come to an end you may be mistaken in thinking that's that. No such thing, the Hawks continue:
Saturday 17/24 June – Forest School. Our trials for every age group. Details will follow shortly.
End of season bash/awards
Saturday 8 July - Forest School, 2-5pm ish. A celebration of all things Hawks. Players and parents invited. Details will be confirmed shortly.
Saturday 1 July – Colgate Lodge, 3-7pm. All players, parents and friends of the Hawks are invited. Current players will be given the full details, but if you also wish to attend please let us know.
Tuesday 20 June - Venue tbc. As a club run by volunteers we are always looking for more assistance in the running of the Hawks. Various positions within the organisation will be available for the upcoming season and it remains vital that these are filled in order to make the club viable. Your opinions are important to us so make your voice heard.
Funday Sunday (previously Sparks in the Park)
Sunday 9 July - Horsham Park - We need as many volunteers as we can gather for this funday in the 'sun'. This is an important way for the club to raise it's profile and also a great gathering of like minded individuals. So we hope to see you on our stand.
So pen in these these dates and we hope to see you very soon.
Playing for Hawks
We will soon be announcing the details of our trial dates so keep an eye here for details. If you want to play, we want to meet you.
January Blues Shaken at the Hawks Quiz Night
huge thank you to all of those who came along to the Quiz Night. The
general noise level and amount of food consumed is testament to you all
having a good time, and equally importantly raising a massive £375 for
the Hawks. Thank you for you generosity and for sticking with the
obscure questions. Congratulations to the victorious Fursty Ferrets
Table officials and referees
The hawks are always looking for new table officials and referees. Regular courses are run to give you the skills to either table a game of even referee a match (you could also earn a little pocket money as well). If you are interested in helping us in any way please contact Will.
Hawk's end of season bash 2016
After a spectacular season the hawks came together for one last event, the End of Season Bash. Thank you one and all for an amaxing season.
Hawks Josh Lea Clayton and Josh Tavolieri have both made it through to the South East region squad. Well deserved guys. Elsewhere Zach Holden and Miguel Venturini made it through to the Sussex boys squad whilst Rachel Maclean matched them with a place in the Sussex girls squad.
Super Sunday for a duo of trios
Sunday 17 April will be remembered as a very special day as the Hawks 'represented' at two major competitions. First to strike were Josh, Miguel and Zach. Their National League team, the U12 Sussex Bears, were crowned Central Hoops Basketball League Champions. It was a very early start in London for the team, coaches and the parents. The team, the coaches and their families did this journey to London on several such Sundays throughout the season. After many games the top 4 teams battled for the top spot. It was very tense and tough but such a joy to watch these young kids play a high quality basketball on the court. The atmosphere was amazing all the way through. Having won their semi-final v Baltic Stars, they had a 20 minute break to rest and then played their final v Newham Youngbloods. They won 55:53 and Miguel was rewarded with one of the MVP awards. Boys, we are very proud of you. You have done an AMAZING job.
Else where Millie, Ellie and Indi played in their National League semi final. The trip oop north to Manchester (Bury to be precise) was well worth the trip as the three helped secure the U16 Sevenoaks Suns a place in the final. A trip to the Armaechi Basketball Centre in May against Bristol Storm lays ahead. Their 38 -41 win against a tough Lancashire Spinners team was hard fought as the lead changed hands throughout the tie. With two minutes left the score was tied, but it was the Suns who finished the stronger. Well done girls and assistant coach Dave Clayton for an amazing game of ball.
Calling all female basketballers (over 16 yrs of age, so not all at all)
Hawks is a great way into basketball for the junior members of the family, but we also have strong ties with Horshams Ladies basketball club, the Allstars. If you are 16 or above, female and interested in playing basketball please let Will know. Experience isn't necessary, just a desire to play hard, have fun and get fit.

Hawks strike out
Three lanes, 18 names, 1 strike and a spare. Bowling at it's finest. Who would have known that the management would be so anti dunking...
Just couldn't resist the basketball. For more photos see the Hawks pictures in the sub nav <<.
